Synopsis
When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.
Audition Details:
Thursday, June 6, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM or Saturday, June 8, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
For the audition, please prepare up to 32 measures of music similar to theme of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music. You will also be asked to read from the script. Please also wear or bring comfortable dance attire, as all auditioning will be required to learn a short dance/movement combination. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the designated time to complete the paperwork. Rehearsal conflicts must be presented at the time of auditions. Bring a headshot, resume, and conflicts to the audition.

Rehearsals:
June 18 – July 11, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; off July 4)
Tech Rehearsal:
July 15 - 18, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Please note: Tech week may require additional rehearsals)
Performs:
July 19 @ 7:00 PM & July 20 @ 7:00 PM (2 shows)
Cost: $300 (Includes cast shirt)
($75 when you register and balance due on June 18th)
