Our Mission
"I believe arts education in music, theater, dance, and the visual arts is one of the most creative ways we have to find the gold that is buried just beneath the surface. They (children) have an enthusiasm for life, a spark of creativity, and vivid imaginations that need training - training that prepares them to become confident young men and women." - Richard W. Riley, Former US Secretary of Education.
Artistic Mission
Terry Fyke founded Terry Fyke Studio of Dance in 1995 in Scottsville, N.Y. In 2001, she established Main Street Players as a way to expand her visual and performing arts curriculum to musical theater. Terry's inclusive and nurturing style promotes creativity, builds confidence and improves theatrical skills in many areas. Students not only showcase their talents but also participate in a shared learning experience; they gain self-confidence, learn to trust their ideas and abilities, learn to work as a team, cooperate and collaborate with one another, learn to take risks and to trust themselves, others and the process... life skills that transcend time.
Experiencing different genres of acting, vocal and dance curriculum, students learn and master technical skills that translate into a culminating performance to showcase their talent. Celebrating the diversity of individual talent, harnessing and integrating the talent into an ensemble that becomes a memorable work of art are cornerstones of the program.
Vision
Our goal is to promote and build confidence, self-esteem and awareness for the performing arts. Embrace and harness individual talent which leads to ensembles that integrate and become memorable works of art.
