Synopsis

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton with a screenplay by John August BIG FISH is a fantastical, heartwarming musical that follows the life of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life stories captivate everyone around him—especially his loving wife, Sandra. But their son, Will, about to become a father himself, is determined to uncover the truth behind his father’s epic tales. As Will embarks on a journey to understand the man behind the myth, BIG FISH explores the power of storytelling, family bonds, and the search for identity.

 

Auditions:

Monday, June 8, 6:30 – 8:30 PM or Wednesday, June 10, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, and call backs if needed, Thursday, June 11, 6:30 – 8:30 PM

(Audition Location: Mary Cariola Center, 1540 Mount Hope Ave, Rochester, NY 14620)

 

For the audition, please prepare up to 32 measures of music similar to the genre of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music. You will also be asked to read from the script. Please also wear or bring comfortable dance attire, as all auditioning will be required to learn a short dance/movement combination.

 

Please arrive 15 minutes before the designated time to complete the paperwork. Bring a headshot, resume, and conflicts to the audition.

 

Rehearsals:

 June 23 – July 16, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Tech Rehearsal: July 20 - 22, 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Please note: Tech week may require additional rehearsals)

(Tech Rehearsal Location: The Norman Howard School, 275 Pinnacle Rd, Rochester, NY 14623)

 

 Performances:

July 23 @ 7:00 PM, July 24 @ 7:00 PM & July 25 @ 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM

Cost: $350 (includes cast shirt)

No refunds will be given after the show has been cast.
